This is our Avatar Signature 212 guitar speaker cabinet. We took our 212 Contemporary and redesigned the faceboard. It is now a sleeker front frame, featuring a roundover on the inside edge. It features our newer two-tone logo also used on our amp heads. Countersunk handles and input are also new improvements. It’s the biggest 212 we make. It has the stylish thick edge look to it with piping around the grill. The construction is all voidless Birch Plywood and it comes in a variety of tolex colors, piping colors and grill cloth choices.
-New sleeker outer edge with inside roundover
-New Avatar Logo
-Same dimensions as G212 Contemporary
With the closed back panel, you get a very focused sound coming off of the front of the speaker cones but with a strong bass.
With the oval open back panel, you get plenty of mids coming off of the back of the cones and radiating out into the room. You can also get the closed back conversion board to close up the open back from the inside. It is an additional $15 dollars.
This deluxe cab has two recessed round metal bar handles and a rear metal jack plate with dual 1/4 inch jacks for daisy chaining with other cabs.
The two 12’s are rear loaded with T Nuts which makes it easy to swap out speakers for tone experimenting. We have many choices of quality Celestion guitar speakers to fit your precise tone preferences. Please go to Celestion.com to read about or to listen to sound samples to help you decide which are best for your playing style and TONE requirements.
It has been our experience that some of the favorite speaker combinations are two industry standard Celestion Vintage 30’s for Superb high power tone and for the widest variety of music styles and for a great deal of presence to really cut through the mix in a 120 watt cab.
One Celestion Vintage 30 and one G12H30 for a slightly deeper, warmer sounding tone as a 60 watt cab, or two Celestion G12H30s for a real rich, sweeter overdrive tone at 60 watts.
The Celestion Greenback will give this cabinet early cone break up for classic warm low wattage tone at 25 watts each. The Celestion G12T75 (used in many Marshall cabinets) have lots of crunch, big bass, scooped mids and sizzling highs at 75 watts each.
For fantastic, natural sounding high power clean tones, the 80 watt Celestion Classic Lead 80s are the Celestions that most faithfully reproduce your signal rather than to add any color or character to your tone. Classic lead 80’s are great for modeling type amps or situations where you want neutral clean clear reproduction.
For the lower powered high end boutique tube amps, two Celestion Alnico Blue’s have the most wonderful chime and creamy midrange to them in a 30 watt cab or consider the mix of one Alnico Blue and one G12H30 for half chime and half warm overdrive. Our Hellatones are also great because the Hellatone 30 is a slightly broken in Celestion G12H30 and the Hellatone 60 is a slightly broken in Celestion Vintage 30. For the ultimate in vintage alnico chimey tone, the 50 watt Celestion Alnico Golds have the same wonderful chime as the lower powered Blues but are rated at 50 watts each speaker rather than 15 watts.
The Signature cab dimensions are 31″W x 21″H x 15″D. Weight is approximately 65 lbs depending on speakers. Signature cabs are not sold on a trial basis and are not returnable.
